Is Apex Trader Funding legit?
Apex is a real, large futures prop firm operating from Texas since 2021, with a 4.2 TrustScore from about 21,000 Trustpilot reviews, 81 percent five-star and 9 percent one-star, and a public help centre. Its accounts, including funded Performance Accounts, are simulated; the firm says so plainly and offers live trading only by invitation. It relaunched its whole product line on 1 March 2026 with one-time fees, a No Payout Denials promise and simpler rules, which is a response to the volume of complaints the old products generated.
Does Apex Trader Funding pay out?
Yes, within a very specific structure. Performance Accounts pay 100 percent of approved payouts, weekly at most, once you have five trading days each above a minimum profit ($100 to $300 by size), keep a Safety Net of drawdown plus $100 in the account, and no single day is half or more of your profit since the last payout. Each payout is capped, from $1,000 on a 25K account to $5,000 on a 150K account, and after six payouts the Performance Account closes. The minimum payout is $500. The firm's homepage promises No Payout Denials and no video or screenshot reviews.
Apex vs Topstep: which is better?
Both are US futures firms. Apex is cheaper after coupons, passes you in as little as one day, has no evaluation consistency rule and pays 100 percent of Performance Account profits, but every PA dies after six capped payouts and every account stays simulated. Topstep is a monthly subscription with a 55 percent consistency target, a 90/10 split and lower early caps, but it has a 14-year record, publishes its pass rates and offers a real Live Funded Account with uncapped and eventually daily payouts. Choose Apex for cheap, fast, repeatable evaluations; choose Topstep for a career path.
What are the Apex Trader Funding evaluation rules?
Pick a size (25K, 50K, 100K or 150K) and a drawdown type. Targets are $1,500, $3,000, $6,000 and $9,000; maximum drawdown is $1,000, $2,000, $3,000 and $4,000. Intraday Trail: the drawdown trails your peak balance in real time including open profit and there is no daily loss limit. EOD Trail: the drawdown updates at end of day and a fixed daily loss limit of $500, $1,000, $1,500 or $2,000 applies. One minimum trading day, no consistency rule in the evaluation, 30 days to pass, no resets. Contracts range from 4 minis on 25K to 12 on 150K.
How does the Apex intraday trailing drawdown work?
The threshold sits a fixed distance below your highest balance and moves up whenever you set a new high, including on unrealised profit while a trade is open. It never moves down. On a 50K account the distance is $2,000: if an open trade takes you to $52,500 the floor is $50,500 even if you close the trade at $51,000. In a Performance Account the floor stops rising once it reaches the starting balance plus $100; in Rithmic and WealthCharts evaluations it stops at the target balance; in Tradovate evaluations it trails indefinitely.
How much does Apex Trader Funding cost?
List prices on 21 October 2026 for a one-time 30-day evaluation: Intraday Trail $167 (25K), $249 (50K), $790 (100K), $1,190 (150K); EOD Trail $490, $590, $1,190 and $2,190. The checkout showed a 90 percent coupon on every card at the time, so the effective prices were $16.70 to $219. Passing requires a separate one-time Performance Account activation fee within seven days, shown per account at checkout. Nothing is refunded and there are no resets on the new products.
What is the Apex 50 percent consistency rule?
It applies to payouts, not to the evaluation. Your largest profitable day must be less than 50 percent of your net profit since your last approved payout, or since the account started if you have not been paid yet. The easy check is best day divided by 0.5: a $1,500 best day means you need at least $3,000 of net profit before the payout button appears. You do not fail for being above 50 percent; you keep trading until the percentage falls. It resets after each approved payout.
Is Apex Trader Funding available in the UK?
Yes. The UK is not on Apex's long restricted list, which does include China, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, Nigeria, South Africa, Cyprus and Jersey among others. You need a government-issued ID from an eligible country and a bank account there. The product is US futures on simulated accounts, so nothing about it is FCA-regulated, and the trading day runs on US Eastern time with a 6 PM ET reset.
What platforms does Apex Trader Funding offer?
Rithmic-connected platforms, Tradovate, NinjaTrader and WealthCharts. There is no MetaTrader and no CFD product. Instruments are CME Group futures: E-mini and micro equity indices, currency futures, energy, metals and agriculturals, with EUREX products available on Tradovate.
Can I trade forex with Apex Trader Funding?
Only as currency futures such as the euro (6E), pound (6B) and their micro contracts. There is no spot forex, no CFD pairs, no MetaTrader and no swap-free option. A forex trader would need to translate pairs into contracts, pips into ticks and dollars, and work to US futures hours. If keeping your MT5 workflow matters, Apex is the wrong tool; look at FTMO, FXIFY or The5ers instead.
Can The Forex Complex signals be used for Apex Trader Funding?
Only with translation and mostly for context. Our signals are spot forex ideas with pips-based stops; on Apex you would trade the equivalent CME currency future, convert the stop into ticks and dollars against a $1,000 to $4,000 trailing threshold that moves on open profit, and make sure no single day is half your profit before a payout. The directional idea carries over, the instrument and sizing do not. No signal service can guarantee you will pass or be paid.
